We have a great opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and knowledgeable team!

Quantock Vets have been providing outstanding care to the pets of Bridgwater and Nether Stowey since 1985.

The Team:

Due to our exciting expansion, we are looking to grow our wonderful team. We are a well-established team who are looking for a friendly and approachable team player to join us.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with experience as we are also a teaching hospital and cater to new graduates.

Our team really are everything to us and so it is very important that as we get busier, we neither want to compromise our patient care or burn out our current staff. Therefore, we are looking to welcome an additional Vet to the team to assist with this, hopefully that’s where you come in!

The Role:

We are looking for a vet to work alongside our current team – ideally full-time but part-time will be considered.

  • Full-time is 40 hours a week (with weekends worked is a 36-hour week) this will include consult days, theatre days, in patient shifts and a day out at our branch surgery
  • 4-day week with the same day off in the week if preferred
  • Weekends are worked on a rota basis between our full-time vets (1:6 full weekend, 1:6 half weekend- which may become more diluted as we get more staff)
  • No OOH as we run our own dedicated out of hours service for the area and no Bank holidays
  • If you have a special interest, we would like to support you with this

*We will also consider a Consult only vet if that suits you.

Our Practice:

Our hospital in Quantock and Nether Stowey branch have top-of-the range facilities and offer a huge range of services.
We are a busy first opinion practice doing 100% small animal as well as a good amount of exotics and wildlife.
We pride ourselves on a high level of patient care and have dedicated inpatient shifts for both vets and nurses, so our patients receive optimal care while with us.
We have digital x-ray, dental x-ray, portable and diagnostic ultrasound, endoscopy and laparoscope equipment to name a few! We also have a dedicated night team.

The Area:

Set at the foot of the Quantock hills the area is only a short distance from the beautiful countryside and west coast beaches, while still having the convenience of the M5 to get you to the nearest big cities such as Exeter and Bristol.

Benefits:

  • Salary – £45,000-£55,000 dependent on experience (pro rata)
  • 6 weeks paid holiday including bank holidays, with the potential for buy/sell holiday
  • £1750 CPD Allowance per annum(pro rata)
  • Health Shield – wide ranging contributions for health and wellbeing treatments – from dentistry to sports massage
  • RCVS Membership paid
  • Two other membership subscriptions

  • Enhanced paternity, maternity, adoption, shared parental leave and surrogacy pay
  • Discounted veterinary fees
