Aylesbury vet practice launches improved out-of-hours emergency service

HAMPDEN Veterinary Hospital has launched a new dedicated out-of-hours service to improve the level of care for the pets of Aylesbury.

This improved service will ensure pets who are sick or injured can be cared for 24 hours a day, by veterinary teams specifically working either the daytime or night-time.

It will take over from the existing service where day vets have been on-call overnight.

Practice manager Anne Asprey said: “Our new out-of-hours service will complement our day team here in Aylesbury to give the most comprehensive level of care to pets, at any time of the day or night.

“As demand for our veterinary expertise continues to grow, this new service means the vets for both daytime and overnight are fresh and focused to provide the high-quality care that we pride ourselves on, as these are their sole working hours.”

The out-of-hours service is housed at Hampden Vets’ main veterinary hospital in Anchor Lane, Aylesbury. There will always be at least one vet and one nurse on duty.

The new service was launched in full on the 7th January 2019 with additional routine clinics available at more convenient times for pet owners. Clinics will be at the hospital on weekend afternoons and at Watermead on Sunday mornings.

These services are open to clients of Hampden Veterinary Hospital, which also has practice sites in Watermead, Elm Farm, Fairford Leys, Haddenham.

Out-of-hours emergency care at Hampden Vets is also available for pet owners who are registered with another veterinary practice, provided this practice has been contacted in the first instance.

Hampden is one of fewer than 200 RCVS Accredited Veterinary Hospitals in the whole of the UK, out of more than 4,000 veterinary practices. This means the practice maintains the highest standards of veterinary care.

The phone number for Hampden Vets’ dedicated out-of-hours is 01296 423666.
