Our culture

Our ways of working.

We’re called VetPartners because we believe in working in true partnership with our family of practices.

Our team care for people, their pets and our profession, and have created a culture of warmth and belonging.

No two practices are the same. We embrace and encourage that independent spirit, while at the same time supporting practices to provide outstanding care for patients and an excellent service for clients.

Our aim is to be the veterinary group of choice for both practices and employees and we do that by being a great place to work, expanding our business through the attraction and acquisition of desirable practices and developing the business in an efficient, ethical, sustainable and profitable way.

We develop individuals, practices and teams through investing in our people with high quality training and CPD and investing in our clinics by providing the latest technology, equipment and facilities.

While we have a clear line management structure, everyone makes the tea at VetPartners!

Health Shield

Health Shield offers a variety of benefits, including money back on treatments such as dental, optical, prescriptions and flu jabs. Health Shield also offers wellbeing support, including 24/7 counselling (including face-to-face) and support helplines. Health Shield also provides discounts on shopping, days out and holidays.

CPD support

VetPartners is committed to developing all of our team members to help them reach their potential. We recognise the value of supporting personal, clinical and professional development. We offer a minimum CPD allowance across the business, which supports colleagues to acquire new knowledge and skills.

Cycling to work

VetPartners offers the opportunity to buy a bicycle via Cyclescheme, a salary sacrifice employee benefit. The salary sacrifice is taken from your gross salary (before tax).

VetPartners is ensuring all employees are paid fairly based on their experience, expertise and performance. Through regular reviews and career development discussion between employees and their manager, we make sure everyone has equal opportunities to thrive.

Wellbeing

Wellbeing within our teams is important to us at VetPartners. We established our Wellbeing Group in 2017 to support colleagues and promote wellbeing throughout the organisation. The Wellbeing Group ensures excellent training resources are available for all, awareness of the importance of all aspects of wellbeing and that support is available (anonymously if necessary) to promote general wellbeing, as well as help those at the point of crisis.

Pet discount

Receive 10% off all products and services at our small animal and equine practices for up to three pets or pleasure horses increasing to 33% off all treatment procedure fees if you work in a practice. You are also eligible to 50% discount on our small animal Pet Health Plan if registered with one of our practices and the annual fees paid at that practice.

Maternity, paternity, adoption and surrogacy leave

We’re proud to be a family friendly employer. Receive maternity pay of eight weeks full pay, 12 weeks half pay followed by 19 weeks Statutory Maternity Pay. We offer two weeks of full pay during paternity leave. This also applies for primary and secondary carers during adoption and surrogacy, where you will benefit from the enhanced maternity (primary carer) or paternity (secondary carer) benefit.

Annual leave

Enjoy a minimum of six weeks holiday, inclusive of bank holidays.

Buy and sell holidays

Sell up to two weeks of your holiday above the statutory minimum and buy an extra two weeks of holiday.

Coming soon – flexible benefits

We will soon offer private medical insurance for any employee who would like to subscribe for themselves and their family. Other flexible benefits will include increasing pension contribution.
