Eastgate Veterinary Group praised for excellence in veterinary care

A SUFFOLK veterinary group has underlined its commitment to offering the best possible standard of care for clients and their pets.

Each of Eastgate Veterinary Group’s sites at Bury St Edmunds, Thetford and Mildenhall has achieved General Practice rating in the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, a scheme accrediting practices across the UK.

Around half the practices in the UK are accredited under the voluntary Practice Standards Scheme, which quality assures practices and their facilities.

To become accredited, Eastgate Veterinary Group had to meet targets for a range of standards including hygiene and staff training and development.

Claire Crane, one of the two practice managers at Eastgate Veterinary Group, said: “We know how much pets mean to their owners and are often treated as members of the family. To ensure their pets remain fit and healthy we have a first-class team of veterinary surgeons, nurses, receptionists and administration staff working across all three practices.

“Everyone is committed to ensuring we continue to provide the highest standards possible and these accreditations are testament to their hard work day in, day out.”

Jo Austin, practice manager, added: “We all go that extra mile to make sure our clients and their pets have the very best experience with us. We strive to give high standards of care and comfort to our animals and peace of mind to their owners. The recognition from the RCVS makes all the effort worthwhile.”

Eastgate Veterinary Group’s practices actively play a role in their communities with events including a summer pet show.

Dog owners are encouraged to get together at puppy parties hosted by the practice where they can learn helpful advice on how to look after their new addition to the family.

The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) Practice Standards Scheme was launched in 2005. Membership of the scheme is recognised by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD).
