Further growth of VetPartners after UK group is joined by respected Lancashire practice

ONE of Lancashire’s best-known veterinary practices has joined VetPartners.

Armac Veterinary Group, which has three branches in Bury, Fairfield and Bolton, completed the move to VetPartners is happy to be joining the group

Practice owners Angus Mackenzie and Antony Rowland will remain at the practice as clinical directors, along with their team of established vets, veterinary nurses, admin and reception teams.

Some 140 of the UK’s most respected and trusted small animal, equine, farm and mixed veterinary practices are part of VetPartners, with 5,514 employees working across nearly 400 sites and from its headquarters in York.

The group celebrates its fifth anniversary on October 31 after being established in 2015 by CEO Jo Malone, a veterinary surgeon, who previously worked at The Minster Veterinary Practice in York.

Armac Vets’ main branch in Bury has served the town’s pet owners for more than 25 years since it was established in 1984, and has an accident and emergency clinic providing a 24-hour service 365 days of the year. It also has branches in Fairfield and Bolton.

In 2019, the group expanded into Europe with the addition of five veterinary practices in Italy and is anticipating further growth in both Italy and France in 2020. The group also diversified to include a small animal veterinary nursing school, an equine nursing school, laboratories, research dairy and locum agency.
