Many happy returns for vet Jeremy

THE lure of working at one of the UK’s best equipped veterinary hospitals has led to a happy return for vet Jeremy Bodian.

Jeremy has returned to Eastfield Veterinary Hospital in North Thoresby, near Grimsby, after completing his Certificate in Surgery and will be able to take advantage of state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.

Jeremy, who has spent the last two years working at the Blue Cross in Grimsby, is also an Advanced Veterinary Practitioner certificate holder, who will oversee orthopaedic and general surgery at the practice.

As a young vet, he worked at Eastfield Vets for five years, where he met wife Sarah, a veterinary nurse, and is looking forward to returning to one of the UK’s most hi-tech veterinary hospitals.

Eastfield Vets boasts a modern operating theatre suite with sterile operating theatres, x-ray room, large preparation room, dental theatre and scanning room with ultra-sound and endoscopy.

The practice was last year awarded veterinary hospital status by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), who quality assure veterinary practices and their facilities.

Jeremy is among three new arrivals at Eastfield Vets, which is part of the VetPartners group alongside some of the most respected and trusted UK practices, as fellow vets Claire Applewhite and Paulo Pereira are also settling into new roles.

“Eastfield Vets is a very dear place to me as I gained a lot of experience here and feel a close bond to the practice,” said Jeremy.

“I left to gain further experience as a vet and develop my skills. Now I have my certificates, Eastfield Vets is the best place to put my skills in practice.

“I hope to develop referral work in orthopaedic surgery as we have full orthopaedic equipment here. VetPartners is very supportive in providing a high level of training for vets and in investing in staff, the best equipment and facilities.”

Following her arrival at Eastfield Vets, Claire is keen to complete her Feline Medical Certificate and help the practice towards becoming a Cat Friendly Clinic.

Paulo, who is originally from Portugal, has worked in the UK for five years, and is particularly interested in dental procedures, as well as being a general medical vet.

Eastfield Vets Practice Manager Lizzie Osmond said: “We have appointed some highly skilled, experienced and accomplished vets so we can continue to offer clients the best in pet healthcare.

“They all offer a range of different skills and different areas of expertise.”

Eastfield Vets has seven vets and 16 veterinary nurses, serving 7,500 registered clients through Grimsby, Louth, Mablethorpe, Cleethorpes, Scunthorpe and surrounding areas.
