Our culture and the benefits of working with VetPartners

Our team cares for people, their pets and our profession, and have created a culture of warmth and belonging. That includes looking after our colleagues, and we work hard to ensure every member of our team is fully supported, and rewarded for the fantastic work they do.

Our culture

We’re called VetPartners because we believe in working in true partnership with our family of practices.

No two practices are the same. We embrace and encourage that independent spirit, while at the same time supporting practices to provide outstanding care for patients and an excellent service for clients.

Our aim is to be the veterinary group of choice for both practices and employees and we do that by being a great place to work, expanding our business through the attraction and acquisition of desirable practices and developing the business in an efficient, ethical, sustainable and profitable way.

We develop individuals, practices and teams through investing in our people with high quality training and CPD and investing in our clinics by providing the latest technology, equipment and facilities.

While we have a clear line management structure, everyone makes the tea at VetPartners!

Benefits to employees

Health Shield

Health Shield offers a variety of benefits, including money back on treatments such as dental, optical, prescriptions and flu jabs, wellbeing support and discounts on shopping, days out and holidays.

Life Insurance

We have introduced a new life insurance benefit for employees. Having life insurance can help provide peace of mind, as well as ensure your loved ones have a little of the financial worry taken away if the worst happens. Group life insurance will pay out a lump sum to our employees (1 x annual salary) who die while employed by VetPartners.

Maternity, paternity, adoption and surrogacy leave

We offer maternity pay of eight weeks full pay, 12 weeks half pay followed by 19 weeks Statutory Maternity Pay. We are also introducing a one-off payment of 5% of expected annual salary when the primary carer returns to work. We offer two weeks of full pay during paternity leave. This also applies for primary and secondary carers during adoption and surrogacy.

CPD support

We offer a minimum CPD allowance across the business, which supports colleagues to acquire new knowledge and skills.

Reward and recognition

Our Nettie awards celebrate team members who demonstrate our values of being respectful, supportive, dedicated, approachable and working collaboratively.

Clear and transparent pay scale

We are ensuring all employees are paid fairly based on their experience, expertise and performance through regular reviews and career development discussion between employees and their manager.

Wellbeing

We established our Wellbeing Group in 2017 to support colleagues by ensuring training and awareness is promoted for all, as well as making support available to promote general wellbeing, as well as help those at the point of crisis

Annual leave

We provide a minimum of six weeks holiday, inclusive of bank holidays.

Buy and sell holidays

Sell up to two weeks of your holiday above the statutory minimum and buy an extra two weeks of holiday.

Cycling to work

We offer the opportunity to buy a bicycle via Cyclescheme, a salary sacrifice employee benefit. The salary sacrifice is taken from your gross salary before tax.

Pet discount

10% off all products and services at our small animal and equine practices for up to three pets or pleasure horses, increasing to 33% off all treatment procedure fees at the practice you work at, as well as 50% off our small animal Pet Health Plan.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

We nurture workplaces where colleagues can be themselves and work without prejudice, whether relating to age, ethnicity, social backgrounds, gender, culture, disability or sexuality

Private Medical Insurance

We provide private medical insurance at reduced retail rates for UK colleagues who would like to subscribe for themselves and their family
