New Graduate Vet – Eastgate Vet Group – Thetford, Norfolk

We would love to welcome a new graduate into our practice!

This is a new role, in addition to our current rota, so we can give you all the support you need to build your confidence as you start in your new veterinary career.

Here at Eastgate, we pride ourselves on providing a friendly and personal service to our clients. We have a lovely client base with many long-standing clients who we really see as friends of the practice.

Mainly based at our branch in Thetford, there are plenty of local activities and things to get up to in your downtime. From the adrenaline rush of Go Ape to the gentle walks around Thetford Priory and Lynford Arboretum, this is the perfect place for nature lovers. As well as being in a beautiful location, you’re also only a 2-hour drive from London, and about an hour to Norwich and Cambridge, giving you a whole bunch of places to explore.

Sounds nice! What’s my work schedule?

You would be working 36 hours over 4 days per week. Once you’ve found your feet and feel more confident, we’d discuss your inclusion into the OOH rota (approximately 1 first and 1 second on call in 10, always with a second on call Vet as back up) to build upon your experience. As well as Thetford, we also have branches in Mildenhall and Bury St. Edmunds, all well-equipped and with friendly and supportive teams.

As you will be part of a Graduate Development Programme at VetPartners, you will be able to embrace a blended learning approach of training days, in-house mentoring, CPD and clinical practice, creating a varied platform for you to grow and develop as a Veterinary Surgeon. You will be offered both supportive 1-to-1 and group mentoring sessions, for engagement and interaction, as you develop an invaluable skillset. From surgical/medical experience, to enjoying teamwork, providing refined customer service, and gaining business knowledge to support the security of great patient care.

You can find out more about the programme at:

Cool! What about you?

Our greatest asset is the people who work here – we all support each other and ensure that everyone is listened to and valued – we love to hear ideas from our team members on how we can grow and evolve our clinical practice. We encourage further study, and have 4 vets who either have, or are working towards, certificates in their chosen subjects (medicine, feline medicine, emergency and critical care, and ophthalmology) and we all enjoy helping each other out with clinical cases.

If you would like to start your career in a supportive practice who want to help you find and develop your passion within Veterinary medicine, then please get in touch!
