The diverse region includes several areas of natural beauty, including the Wye Valley, Shropshire Hills, Cannock Chase, Malvern Hills and parts of the Cotswolds.

An economic and culturally significant city, Birmingham’s central location makes it accessible from both London and the North. Residents and visitors can also make the most of great nightlife and famous attractions such as the Bullring shopping centre and bull statue.

The world heritage site the Ironbridge Gorge is a major West Midlands attraction, and Staffordshire holds the industrial potteries conurbation.

Warwickshire is the county of Stratford-Upon-Avon, where the playwright William Shakespeare was born, while Nuneaton is the birthplace of the author George Eliot. The town of Rugby is also the home of the sport.

The region is served by several railway lines that connect it to major cities, and it takes under two hours to travel to London by train. The HS2 project is also planned to directly connect London to the region by 2026.

Birmingham Airport connects the West Midlands to the rest of the world, with flights going to Europe, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, North American and the Caribbean.
