ECC Day Veterinary Surgeon – Coastway Vets – Brighton, East Sussex

Here at Coastway Vets, Brighton, we are looking for an experienced and approachable Senior Vet, with a strong medicine bias to join our over 20 strong Veterinary team.

About us:

Our large 24-hour hospital supports our 6 local branch practices and the out-of-hours of other local practices. It has a range of high technical equipment, including ultrasound, digital x-ray, laparoscopy, rigid and flexible endoscopes, and a fully equipped in-house laboratory.

We have an exotic, orthopaedic, first opinion, and night team at the hospital, and we are looking to grow our dedicated medicine team.

Our team has multiple certificate holders and colleagues with a huge range of clinical interests and expertise, with referral services for orthopaedics, imaging, ophthalmology, and exotics. We are committed to continuing further development of our team members and investment into our services.

Situated in the beautiful seaside city of Brighton, there is a plethora of things to do in your downtime. From historic sites, landmarks, and outdoor activities (such as the Royal Pavilion, archery, and clay shooting), to the Brighton Dome Theatre, beach days, and Bar Crawl, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.

About the role:

The role includes assessment and treatment of our hospitalised patients, taking a lead role in their care, and supporting other members of the medical team. The ideal candidate would have, or be working towards, an Emergency Critical Care or internal medicine certificate. It will be expected that you enrol for a certificate after probation, if not already started. Fully supported.

In this role you will be working 36.5 hours over 3 days, giving plenty of time to explore this great city by the sea.

Salary range: £40,000-50,000, depending on qualification and experience, including mentoring experience. Certificates supported.

Some benefits include:

  • 6 weeks annual leave, including Bank Holidays
  • Opportunity to buy and sell holiday
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Pension
  • Enhanced company sick pay
  • £1750 CPD allowance – more if a certificate holder
  • Health Shield (cash back health plan)
  • RCVS fees paid plus one other subscription
  • VDS cover
  • Discounted Veterinary fees
