More information on our Pet Health Plan benefits

What is the difference between a preventative health plan and pet insurance?

Our Pet Health Plan predominantly covers preventative, planned treatments and services, which are not generally covered by pet insurance. The plan will not provide cover or financial benefit for your pet in the event of an illness or accident but can help you spread the cost of routine healthcare across the year through monthly payments. The two options complement each other by providing cover for different situations when you need it.

What pets do you offer Pet Health Plans for?

Dogs, cats and rabbits.

What is included in the Pet Health Plan?

Vaccinations

Our vaccinations come with a comprehensive nose to tail clinical examination with a vet, alongside healthcare, nutrition and lifestyle advice.

Core vaccines Additional vaccines (as required)
Dog Canine distemper, infectious canine hepatitis, canine parvovirus, leptospirosis Kennel cough, rabies
Cat Feline herpesvirus, feline calicivirus, feline panleukopenia virus Feline leukaemia virus, rabies
Rabbit   Myxomatosis and rabbit viral haemorrhagic disease types 1 & 2

The plan includes an annual core booster vaccination or if needed a primary / lapsed vaccination course to get them started / back on track, with additional kennel cough protection for dogs and feline leukaemia virus protection for cats as required.
A 25% discount on rabies vaccination is also included when this is required.

  • Your vet will advise you on whether the additional vaccines are appropriate for your pet, based on an assessment of their lifestyle, risk, travel requirements and your individual preferences.
  • If your pet is unwell, their ability to respond to vaccinations may be affected. In this situation your vet will discuss the options with you, but it may not be appropriate to proceed with immunisation.
  • Your vet may be unable to administer the vaccine due to your pet’s temperament (as assessed by our clinical team), or in the case of global vaccine shortages.

Parasite protection

  • For dogs and cats this includes protection against fleas, ticks (as required), intestinal worms and lungworm (as required for dogs) using veterinary-prescribed parasite treatments. Tailored preventative treatment is provided throughout the year (as needed) based on your dog or cat’s lifestyle, regional risk, travel history / requirements and your individual preferences. Specific products for your pet to travel outside the UK are not included.
  • For rabbits, a 25% discount on fly repellent is included for seasonal protection against flystrike (as part of a wider preventative plan), as recommended by your vet, based on your rabbit’s health status, lifestyle and environmental risk factors.
